Respected guests!
Please find enclosed photographs, outlines and a ground-plan of the house together with this text. My wish is to inform you about the place, accommodation and links with an island of Sipan to acquire an accurate picture of choosing Sipanjska Luka as your holiday destination. I have to apologize in advance for an unusual approach probably due to my being a computer technician and not a tourist agent.
You are already familiar with the place and the island from
www.dubrovnikportal.com
(tourism-private accommodation – Dubrovnik,island of Sipan)
Sipanjska Luka is a place with 150 inhabitants during the winter months, and that number is multiplied ten times during the two summer months. Therefore, the best time for holiday is a pre-season and after-season, particularly September for everyone looking for peace and relaxation. Swimming is allowed throughout the cove. An unwritten rule says, in vicinity of asphalt shores you are obliged to swim in swim-suits (except in Prijezba cove), while nudists and swimmers in topless and suits share all other coves. There are three private restaurants, two supermarkets, a Post office, a hotel, an a disco run by Sipan youth, as well as an ambulance (an out-patient clinic). There are two doctors on call and they can be reached on following phone numbers (099-502696;020-758120;020-759202;099-502695).
Beside Sipanjska Luka there is another small place on the island called Sudurad (4 km by asphalt road through Sipan field), which is a fishermen place emerged around fortifications of Dubrovnik Republic.
More about the island, its history, summer houses and legends I leave up to your curiosity, conversations with locals and hiking paths along the island.
The island of Sipan is situated 30 km from Dubrovnik, opposite to Slano on the mainland. If you travel by car I recommend the shortest route Croatian border – Zagreb – Karlovac – Slunj – Plitvice Lakes – Korenica – Udbina – Gracac – Knin – Sinj – Trilj – V. Cista – Cista Provo – Sestanovac – Adriatic road – Makarska – Ploce – Neum – Slano – Dubrovnik.
